The rehabilitation of Woman Creek Dam and Reservoir consisted of constructing interior toe buttresses along the upstream dam slope and remaining south interior berm within the reservoir.
The new toe buttresses were constructed with approximately 5,000 tons of imported squeegee sand fill and 60,000 cubic yards of on-site soils, 3,650 cubic yards of riprap, and 2,200 cubic yards of riprap bed course borrowed from the existing North interior buttress that was removed in the construction process.
The work entailed stockpiling existing riprap and bed course for reuse, excavation and installation of sand drains, importing and installation of squeegee sand fill into existing buttress riprap, constructing the toe berms with on-site North Internal Berm soil excavation, construction of riprap buttress drain, and placement of riprap and bed course along the lower portion of the buttresses.
