This was a high profile highway interchange improvement project lowering US-6 approximately 26 feet and constructing a bridge over 19th street connecting City of Golden and Lookout Mountain.

 

The project had multiple stake holders including, CDOT, City of Golden, Colorado School of Mines, students, citizens, bicycling community and local small business. The project scope of work included extensive tree removal, clearing, surface and utility removals, excavation of 183,000 cubic yards, complicated traffic detours, several soil nail walls with precast panel facing, bridge construction with a small amphitheater, asphalt paving, striping, signage, traffic control, public safety and landscaping.
