The project was designed and constructed by FAA guidelines and was necessary to widen taxiway safety areas from Aircraft Design Group (ADG) IV to a minimum of ADG V standards.

 

Construction included widening the taxiway area a minimum of 21.5’ on each side of the taxiway, including embankment of 250,000CY of earth, drainage infrastructure modifications and utility adjustments or relocations. Earth for the taxiways safety area widening project was obtained from the future RTD FasTracks Station and South Terminal Development location at the south end of the Jeppesen Terminal.
